How do you put numbers in phone on gta episodes from Liberty City?

Press up on the directional pad (d-pad) to use the phone, press up again to be able to type in a number. On the awesome PS3 version, (which is better) press X to select, and O to go back to the previous screen. On the ghetto Xbox 360 version, you use the ugly A button to select, and the extra ugly B button to go back to the previous screen. Thank you for reading and stay away from Xbox 360.
