It is difficult to see how GTA games could use the brand names of real cars, because they might open themselves up to lawsuits when you consider the content of the games.
If a particular brand of car was seen charging around running down peds or cops, it might cause an uproar in that car company. Not very good PR for them! But I guess they don't mind GTA games containing cars based on their cars, as I guess it is less contentious.
The names that are thought up for the GTA cars, names like Sentinel, Infernus, Banshee, etc., are rather likeable really.
