Because the PS2 is an older system that sold very few copies of any software (games) over the 2011 holiday season in spite of the huge number of available games. The console lacks the technological capabilities of the PS3 and Xbox 360 and when those games were created it would be necessary to make a slower less interesting version for the PS2.
