Why are there no children in Grand Theft Auto?

There are no children in the GTA games because the virtual killing of children, accidentally or otherwise, would not be socially tolerated in a game. Orginally there were no animals in GTA either, until GTA IV brought in the pigeons and then the seagulls, to be shot. These birds are frequently culled in town and cities, so it was probably considered to be acceptable.

There are two reasons for this:

A) It would be considered offensive if you could kill or run over children in such a graphic game

B) Too many kids are playing it already.
