John Delorean of the Delorean Motor Company or DMC invented the Delorean. If you look at the front of a Delorean it says DMC on the grille but many people get this confused with GMC. IT's DMC.
The car is a DeLorean, invented by John DeLorean in the 1980's. It was made of stainless steel and so production costs were very high and therefore it just did not last very long. Those upswinging doors are so cool though.
Fans of the Back to the Future trilogy will be pleased to learn that Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown's modified 1981 DeLorean DMC-12, better known as a time machine, is on display at Universal Studios Hollywood in California after a painstaking museum-quality restoration over the past year. While Universal used a handful of cars during filming from 1985 to 1990, this particular vehicle is referred to as the "Hero A" car, as it was the only Delorean featured in all three films.
In the popular 1985 film Back to the Future, the DeLorean needed to go 88 mph (and 1.21 gigawatts) to travel back in time. Doc stole plutonium to power the time machine's flux capacitor and sent Marty back to 1955.
The speed of the Delorean in the movie titled Back to the future had to reach 88 miles per hour before it could transport itself and the passengers back in time.
Time machine, like the delorean you have to hit 88mph for it to work. Try using toyotas, and remember to fill it up with plutonium, lanthanum doesnt power it for that long.
