I am a parent, and I do let my 12 year old son play Black Ops. The only bad things on Black Ops is the violence and blood. Not as much as World at War, but not that much blood at all, really. The Campaign (story mode) does say alot of F word and B word and everything in that category, but for multiplayer or playing live with friends, your character does not say anything at all. Call of Duty Black Ops is a very enjoyable Video Game that I would let a 12 year old play. I hope this information is helpful to you.
no you an only play it if you are a 15 year old
8 and 9 year olds were playing it and have been for years so now there are 13 year olds playing with many year's experience. What you allow your child to play is your decision. If it is a first person shootert it will be rated for mature audiences because all FPS titles and not just black ops are rated M or Mature
Call of Duty Black Ops is a very violent game. It has scenes of torture, blood and gore, and a tremendous amount of swearing. But there are options to fix this. One, is the go to the "gameplay settings" and turn of blood and gore. Second, there is an option to turn off most of the cussing (like the f word and the s word). Those are the things that I told my 12 year old son to do and I have come to think that he can handle it.
Another thing you could do is not let your son play campaign. Campaign mode is where you hear all the bad reviews from (like the torture. Online Multiplayer I think is just perfect for this age level. If you take out campaign, and you did both of the options above, this game is rated M for intense violence Strong Language and BLOOD and Gore. But I think most kids this age can handle it.
It's just a video game and you can sit down and talk with them that war is bad and killing people is wrong. If they are very influential kids (who pick up stuff from movies, Video Games, ect.) this game is NOT for them. But for the mature teenagers, this game is fun and enjoyable.
Sure, If this "player" is a mature 13 year old and can handle a little blood and language. But overall I purchased The game the day it came out and the blood was not what I expected, nor was the language... In fact It was a little cheesy looking :) And most players practically purchase the game to play ONLINE and of course there is no swearing what so ever Online.
i have a friend with black ops and his 6 year old neighbor plays it almost everyday but it is recommended that you should be 17 or older but his neighbor is fine
Look at the ESRB rating on the case and decide for yourself.
