Should a 12 year old be allowed to play Grand Theft Auto 4?

There are a few naughty and violent parts but in my opinion 100% of all ten year olds can handle grand theft auto4. but in older ages just about all kids above the age of 11 can handle it. i mean if they can handle a pg 13 movie this will be a piece of cake.in fact this should be 12 rated at the most! and if you are into computer graphics then you shuld probably play to!

All GTA games, except GTA 2 (which is rated 'Teen'), have an 'M' rating for mature (which is 17/18 years plus).

All the games contain scenes of violence, some of them contain explicit language and some of them have a sexual content.

GTA III is not as bad as later games, but is still not suitable for a ten year old. My personal opinion is that you could stretch it to a 15 year old.

The GTA games are my favourite series, so I am not speaking from an anti-GTA stance.

Well in a general sense no. But sometimes kids don't always pay attention to the story.Is he/she playing the levels or just fooling around on the game with cheats that's what a friend of mine's son did with a Grand Theft Auto game.I don't think it would do major damage to the child but maybe just put the volume down.

ABSOLUTLEY NOT.

this game is NOT meant for children below 18. it strictly says that on the cover as well. 12 year olds should NOT be playing this game. there is alot of drugs, violence, prostitution and other things that 12 year olds should not be dealing with.
