No, the wii is a horrible console compared to the PS3. With the new move support a ps3 is the exact same thing as a wii, except it can go to the z plane. (distance from tv) Meaning it's alot more precise than the wii. Also, it's got the best graphics in the market, compared to the worst. Also every single 3rd party game isn't crap.
The wii is better for kids, if your a parent. Or if you don't have alot of money to spend.
Whoever answered the question above can't use logic. The PS3 costs like $500 and its games are too expensive. Also the Wii isn't only for kids, it's for anybody. Also the PlayStation move forces you to calibrate too much. Graphics have absolutely nothing to do with gameplay. The PS3's games are pretty much all rated M for Mature because Sony can't use their freaking minds and say that there are more kids than 17-year-olds on this planet.

You have to move the Wii remotes around and do all sorts of different motions for different games (eg. swinging your arms forwards and backwards for running) But you won't really have to move your PS3 control, you just push buttons on it all the time. Most games that are on the PS3 won't be on a Wii but most games on a Wii will be on PS3. The graphics on a PS3 is slightly better than on the Wii console.
