I got both games, and i say they are very different. The Godfather is about extotions and racketeering and working up the ladder to become Don of NY. Grand theft auto has no extorting, you do other stuff and the gameplay between both is different to. The Godfather is in the 40's-50's and the Grand Theft Auto series each have a different year.
Conclusion: They are different, but they may seem the same stuff.r
