The MPG for your jeep depends totally on the size of the engine, the type of 4X4 system you have and your driving habits. It could vary from almost 30 MPG (unlikely) to less than 10 MPG. I would guess that the normally equipped Grand Cherokee Limited with a V8 engine driven moderately without 4 Wheel Drive engaged would get somewhere in the range of 17 - 21 mpg....but that is just a guess. So, better information = better answer.
There is a plug in "black box" under your dash that can be unplugged to totally disable the alarm system. The remote clicker should still work but the factory alarm will not. Nothing else will be affected. You'll have to get a flashlight and look under there but the box in question does have a sticker on it that clearly says "alarm/security" on it.
The lighting bolt light is the indicator for a failure in the electronic throttle control system.
