Can you buy a house on Grand Theft Auto?

There are houses everywhere in the city, just as in any normal town, but there is only one house for each island that you are able to have as your base. This is the place where you are able to save your games and comes with your own garage. To find it, you have to follow the purple marker that looks like a house on your map. The first mission of the game actually takes you straight to your house, but other than these houses there are not many other buildings you can do anything special with. Some of them, you can go through a door or up a floor or two, walk around on the roof and things such as that, but this serves no particular cause eventually unless you want to get all the hidden packages and/or other hidden away items.

Well it depends on which Grand Theft Auto you're talking about.

Gta 3, Gta Vice City, Gta IV, Gta San Andreas and Gta Online all have options to buy houses

No, you can't. Properties buying has been added in Vice City and up.

You can't buy houses. I imagine you played San Andreas first. San Andreas and the Vice City games are the only ones where you buy property.
