A British guy named "David Jones" invented the Grand Theft Auto games with British game company called "DMA Design". Later, two English Brothers, Sam & Dan Houser, took over (from GTA 3 onwards) and founded "Rockstar Games" in New York, and changed the name of British company "DMA Design" to "Rockstar North" which is still in Britain and all the main GTA Games are made in Britain by British developers. GTA 1,2, GTA London, GTA III, GTA Vice City, GTA Sanandreas, and GTA IV, were all made in Britain by Rockstar North. All portable GTA Games, GTA Liberty City, Stories, GTA Vice City Stories, GTA China Town Wars, and all the others are made in Britain at "Rockstar Leeds" Rockstar's main office is in Newyork with English brothers Sam and Dan Houser as Presidents. Sam Houser even co-writes the GTA scripts himself. Rockstar has many sub-divisions across the world (where the games are made), but the most sub-divisions are in Britain, where they have Rockstar North (their main developer) Rockstar Leeds, Rockstar London, and Rockstar Lincoln. GTA III,Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, and Vice City Stories all used the same game engine called "Rendaware" which was created by another British company called "Criterion Games" who are famous for the latest NEED 4 SPEED, Hot Pursuit, & the Burnout franchise (among others). GTA's original creator "David Jones" went on to create the Crackdown franchise for Microsoft. He also created the "Lemmings" games.

Lego City Stories was created in 2012.
== == Where have Rockstar announced that? I have read that on several websites, BUT yeah rockstar have not announced it officially, they annonced it wont be released in 2009 though so yeah. It's coming out in the fall of 2010 for the xBox 360 and perhaps the PS3. above is WRONG. it's coming out on PS3 and MAYBE other consoles. Rockstar Games is planning to make only games for PS3. It's not sure that it's called GTA 5. I think they gonna use a name like vice city or San Andreas. There are a lot rumors out that the next GTA is called Vice City 2
The original GTA games can be played on the PS2: GTA I, GTA 2, GTA London. GTA games for the PS2: GTA III, GTA Vice City, GTA: Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City Stories, GTA San Andreas.
The Grand Theft Auto games were invented by a Scotsman called "David Jones", he made the games in Scotland (North Britain) with his game company "DMA Designs" which he founded in 1988 - which was based in Dundee, Scotland. Then two English brothers "Sam & Dan Houser" took the company and the GTA Franchise (from GTA III onwards) they then opened up a main publishing office in New York and called it "Rockstar Games". They then changed game company "DMA Designs" in Britain to "Rockstar North" and this is where all the GTA games are developed (apart from the portable versions which are handled from "Rockstar Leeds" in England/ South Britain) The game engine that powerd GTA III,Vice City,San Andreas and portable versions "Renderware" was created by English games company Criterion Games (the makers of the Burnout franchise) Rockstar Games has many sub divisions all over the world which handle the publishing and localisation in their respective countries, but most of them are in Britain, Rockstar North (all main GTA games are made here) Rockstar Leeds, in England (all portable GTA games are handled from here) Rockstar London & Rockstar Lincoln. "David Jones" the inventor of the GTA franchise went on to invent the "Crackdown" franchise for Microsoft, he also created many other classic games like the well known "Lemmings" franchise.
Well, there are mixed opinions. You can believe any review of the two games that you want, but I think the best game is San Andreas.
